Seasonsシリーズの「Spring」は桜や澄んだ春の空に映える新緑から着想を得ており、「Summer」は下部に海藻、上部に波を連想させ、「Fall」は徐々に地面を覆う金色の落ち葉を表現、「Winter」はふわふわと舞い降りる雪を思い出させます。
手吹きガラスのパターンは、それぞれのベースにユニークなモチーフをもたらす技術を使ってつくられています。並べて置くことも、単体で眺めることもできるベースです。

The first vase in Kristine Five Melvær’s Seasons series is inspired by cherry blossoms and bright green leaves against a clear spring sky. The second vase suggests a summer sea with algae on the bottom and waves on top. The third vase shows golden autumn leaves gradually covering the green ground. The fourth vase recalls gently falling winter snow. The patterns of these mouth-blown vases are made using a technique that gives each vase a unique motif. The vases can be used together or alone.

Kristine Five Melvær（クリスティヌ・フィヴェ・メルヴァ/1984-）は、テーブルウェア、照明、家具、テキスタイル、グラフィックデザインを手掛ける、オスロを拠点としたデザイナー。プロダクトデザインとグラフィックデザインの分野の橋渡しをしながら、物のコミュニケーションの主題となるものを探求しています。また物と使い手の間に感情的なつながりを生み出す手段として、物の伝達の可能性にフォーカスしています。物事の感覚的なエッセンスを探ることで、北欧的なシンプルさを用いながらその質感を五感を喜ばせるものへと変換していきます。
オスロ建築デザイン大学でインダストリアルデザインを学び、またオスロ国立芸術大学でビジュアルコミュニケーションを学んだ後、テーブルウェア、照明、家具、テキスタイル、グラフィックデザインにおいて、数々の賞を受賞。ノルウェーのガラスメーカーMagnor Glassverk（マグノール）にも新たなデザインをもたらし大きく貢献しました。
Kristine Five Melvær (b. 1984) is an Oslo-based designer working with tableware, lighting, furniture, textile objects and graphic design. She investigates the subject of object communication, bridging the disciplines of product design and graphic design. She focuses on the communicative potentials of objects as a means to create emotional bonds between object and user. By searching for the sensual essence of phenomena, she translates these qualities into sensuous objects with a Scandinavian simplicity. Trained in industrial design at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, and visual communication at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, she is an award-winning designer of tableware, lighting, furniture, textile objects and graphics. She is one of the biggest contributors of new designs to the Norwegian glass manufacturer Magnor Glassverk.
